Bargaining Update

  • by

The UE Bargaining Committee will be meeting with Hallcon officials in Chicago, Thursday September 22nd and Friday September 23rd. Wages, PTO and Longevity pay are some of the final sticking points. Our fight for fair wages is not done

Our extension of the contract expires at 11:59 pm on Friday September 23. The bargaining committee hopes to have a complete package for members to vote on or after the 23rd. We do not know at this time if we will recommend a yes or a no vote, but you need to know what comes next

THERE WILL NOT BE AN IMMEDIATE STRIKE ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24th. Members will vote on a tentative agreement and if it is accepted, the terms of the deal go into effect, if it is rejected, the members will engage in the process of planning for a strike, but not before.

We will hold a series of conference calls for drivers to understand what is in the proposed contract settlement, discuss the pluses and minuses. The calls will be by telephone conference, dial (312) 210-9823 on the following dates and times. (Please remember to check the time zone.)

Voting via mass text will open on Monday September 26th and close Thursday September 29th, the vote results will be announced on Friday September 30th, 2022

If the tentative agreement is accepted, the Union will work to ensure all parts are implemented and work to communicate when the raises and other provisions will be put into effect. If not, strike preparations will begin.
